Understanding the dashboard

The BAS Lodgements Dashboard tracks total, due, overdue, and lodged submissions, helping firms manage compliance. It categorises lodgements by status and Client Manager, making it easy to monitor progress and address delays. With filters for dates, client groups, and filing frequency, businesses can stay on top of deadlines and avoid penalties.

Why is it important?

The BAS Lodgements Dashboard allows you to:

  • Easily monitor lodgement deadlines, follow up on pending tasks, and filter by client manager or status for focused portfolio tracking and streamlined action.

  • Share dashboard views through screenshots or direct access to clients, so they can monitor their financial status in real time. This fosters transparency, encourages collaboration, and helps quickly resolve any discrepancies during the BAS process.

Dashboard FAQs

  • How is Data sourced?

    • The BAS Lodgements Dashboard combines data from Xero Practice Manager (XPM) and the ATO. ATO data must be manually requested every one to two weeks and provided to the Dashboard Insights team for upload. The dashboard then matches records using tax numbers and highlights any discrepancies through the XPM vs ATO Data Integrity Dashboard.

  • What About Clients Who Will Self-Lodge?

    • You can allocate these clients to a separate status called “To Self-Lodge.” To do this, go to the XPM Client Record, click Edit, and set “Prepare Activity Statements” to No. This ensures they are tracked correctly in the BAS Lodgements Dashboard without being included in your firm’s lodgement list.
